Born out of a tragic school shooting, March For Our Lives (MFOL) is a courageous youth-led movement dedicated to promoting civic engagement, education, and direct action by youth to eliminate the epidemic of gun violence.

March For Our Lives is proud to be an official New York Road Runners (NYRR) charity partner for the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon! As the largest marathon in the world, some 50,000+ runners will embark on a journey to run 26.2 miles through the five boroughs of NYC: Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Manhattan, crossing the finish line in the iconic Central Park. There will be countless spectators cheering runners on along the course and from across the globe.

Through the NYRR x MFOL partnership, runners can make their race even more meaningful by joining Team March For Our Lives and fundraising to support our vision of a world free of gun violence.

As a member of Team March For Our Lives, you will receive:

  • Coveted spot in the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon.
  • Ongoing fundraising support and tips from MFOL staff.
  • Personalized fundraising page to easily share with your network.
  • Official MFOL swag.
  • Access to a private Slack group to meet fellow Team MFOL runners and ask questions.
  • Dedicated feature on MFOL’s social media pages.
  • Pre-race dinner in NYC the Friday before the race.
  • Invitations to exclusive virtual and in-person MFOL events before and after the race.

As a member of Team March For Our Lives, you will be asked to:

  • Commit to raise $3,500 by November 3, 2024. All runners will sign a fundraising agreement acknowledging the minimum fundraising requirement and deadline. 
  • Register for the marathon through MFOL’s unique invitation and pay the required marathon registration fees. The marathon registration fees do not count toward the fundraising minimum.
  • Notify friends, family, and colleagues that you’re running on Team MFOL in the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon through email, social media, conversations, and other means of communication. 
  • Respond to all requests from Team MFOL staff.
  • Have fun along your training journey and compete in the race of a lifetime!

To apply for a Team March For Our Lives bib, please complete this application, and we will confirm your status by April 25, 2024. Due to the limited availability of bibs, we cannot guarantee entry to the race via Team MFOL.
